Three people were stuck in an office building overnight. The next morning, the CEO was found dead on the 12th floor. Elevator logs showed a run at 2:47 a.m.

The security guard said the elevator didn’t move once after 9 PM. and that the system must be malfunctioning.

The intern claimed she had stayed in the lobby the entire time, scrolling through her phone, and that nothing unusual had happened.

“Actually,” she added, “that mechanical ‘click’ from the elevator in the middle of the night startled me. I thought someone was coming down.” The elevator makes a faint mechanical “click” when it starts, but that sound can only be heard by someone standing right at the elevator doors.

The lobby is twenty meters away from the elevator.
